Stop Motion Animation of Falling

Table set up = play doh ball and light on drafting desk.

Camera set up on fully extended tripod.

For assignment #6, we were tasked to create a stop motion animation of a falling object. The motion must be believable. I've had prior experience with stop motion animation, but not one in which I had to take real-world physics into account, so I chose to do a simple ball bounce. I rounded up a piece of play-doh and planned out my ball bounce on my drafting desk (literally - pencil marked in the positions I would be placing the ball). I set up my light, used some black construction paper for the ground the ball would be bouncing off, and set my camera atop my tripod. I had to reshoot my animation because following a straight line is much harder to do than it sounds, and I still have issues with shaky pictures - I may try using duct tape to secure my camera in place for the next animation. I used the Animation panel in Photoshop to compile all my images and export the resulting video.
